I have not looked at ride command in a long time until last night. When it first came out I was under the impression that you needed data to stay connected, well not anymore.
What I REALLY REALLY like about this application is that you can upload your gpx files on your desktop computer and edit, etc – and they are saved within your account allowing you to pull your maps up from device to device (I have a bunch of different tablets and phones). You can also download your offline maps for the “no data” use! Very user friendly. The offline maps “regions” are offered by State, and are pretty straight forward maps for the average trail rider – If you need all the topo and elevation stuff, then maybe not for you. Seems to work very well on my Samsung’s.
