I was asked for an introduction so here goes:
Although I’ve been involved with motorcycles for a long time (since 1966), this is my first foray into the ATV, UTV, side-by-side, field. I did originally sell the first ATVs in our area (the 70 and 90 cc three-wheel Hondas, many years ago. Because of their small size, they never appealed to me at the time.
Having just purchased a second-hand 2016 RZR 900 EPS Trail, I’m eager to learn as much as possible to get the most out of my machine.
Yesterday, I greased all of the fittings (supposedly they were done last week at the dealer’s but they seemed pretty dry???) and found it very difficult to support the machine on jack stands (especially the front end). Next will be the “sealed” wheel bearings which supposedly can be done with the sealed bearing greaser, although I don’t see how that can work.
I have the service manual and hope to become comfortable with doing light mechanical work that doesn’t require tools beyond those I already have accumulated.
So far, it’s been a lot of fun although the early onset of very cold weather is putting a cramp in my outings for the time being.
I will contribute when I can and have lots of questions…
