The cam chain is gouging out the side walls on my head, cylinder and case and there’s no side to side slop on the crank or cam shafts, could all that be caused by a loose chain tensioner?

2016 xp 1000 1065 big bore, turbo, beehive valve springs (too stiff?), stock cams and chain, manual chain tensioner and it was tight by hand then turned another 1/4 turn.
