I just bought a carrier bearing from bigbearingstore.com ( BLP206-19G). The issue is that the inner race is about 3/8″ narrower and leaves a gap between the snap ring and collar on the shaft where the bearing slides up to. I know you lock it down with the set screws, but my question is will the gap be a problem of possibly letting the drive shaft slide forward/backwards thru the race should it take a hard hit from flexing going over rough terrain? or do I need to try and find a spacer to take up the excess area? any info is greatly appreciated.
