Now that I have made several extended trips on eastern TN trails with my stock setup I am rethinking my path forward on upgrading my a-arms and radius rods for strength and additional clearance. I originally had the fever to go all in and upgrade to ORB, Lonestar or similar heavy duty stuff. Now after running some pretty serious trails and obstacles with my stock setup and not having any issues I think I am going to go a more budget friendly and logical way. Since I have had no issues or breakages on stock stuff while traversing some serious rocks I know it is only a matter of time before I bend a lower arm or rod. I also have a 5 year warranty and have to consider that during my upgrades. With that in mind I think I am going to go with the Polaris high clearance lower arms and complete high clearance radius rods. I can grab one stock front and rear axle for spares and go with upgraded tie rod setup (probably RacerTech) and still only have $1300 in upgrades and have the stock stuff and spare axles at camp for any needed breakage repairs on rides. I honestly can’t believe I have not bent or broken a tie rod yet since my machine sits pretty wide and I have slammed quiet a few trees and rocks on tight trails. With the upgraded tie rods and the stock ones for spare I think I will be fine. Thoughts and opinions welcomed…
